Dr. Muthanna H. Al-Dahhan biography
Dr. Muthanna H. Al-Dahhan is a distinguished Professor of Chemical, Biochemical, and Nuclear Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology (USA). He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in 1993, following M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from Oregon State University and the University of Baghdad, respectively. His research focuses on multiphase reaction engineering, advanced measurement and imaging techniques, sustainable energy, bioenergy, clean fuels and chemicals, waste treatment, and advanced nuclear energy systems.
Dr. Al-Dahhan has established internationally recognized research facilities and has led several major research initiatives, including the Clean Alternative Energy Using Slurry Bubble Column Reactors Consortium and the NSF Center for Environmentally Beneficial Catalysis.
An active collaborator with industry and international organizations, he has served as a consultant to numerous companies and as an expert for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and UNESCO. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), and the American Chemical Society (ACS), and has received numerous national and international awards for his contributions to engineering research and education.
