XXXXXXXXXXX
Silvia ROMÁN SUERO is a Full Professor in the Applied Physics Department at the University of Extremadura (UEX), Spain. Her academic background is in Chemical Engineering, and she got her PhD at the Applied Physics Department of the UEX, on the porosity development of biomass Activated Carbons. Since 2010, her research focus on HTC processes alone or in combination with or in combination with other thermochemical processes. Research stays in the University of Évora (Portugal, 2 years), University of Buenos Aires (Argentina, 3 months), and the University of Nevada (3 months, UEA), along with participation in joint research initiatives, have allowed her to expand a network of international collaborations in the fields of biomass processing and the development of carbon materials. For Dr. Román, building long-term collaborative relationships is particularly rewarding, especially when they are accompanied by personal friendships. She has leaded several regional, national, and international projects on HTC, as well as contracts with companies. She is also the author of over 70 papers in JCR-indexed journals.
In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Román currently oversees the Office for Development Cooperation at UEX, where she manages academic and research programs in collaboration with NGOs
