Hatem Dhaouadi is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Sciences of Monastir (FSM), University of Monastir. He holds a PhD in Process Engineering from the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL, France), obtained in 1997. He obtained a University Habilitation in Chemistry from the University of Monastir in 2009, followed by a Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR) in Industrial Sciences and Technologies from Paul Cézanne University of Aix-Marseille in 2011. He has been a Professor of Chemical Engineering since 2017, after holding several teaching and research positions in chemistry and chemical engineering.

He is the founder and director of the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Clean Processes (LR21ES04) since 2021, after having directed the Applied Environmental Chemistry Research Unit (UR13ES63) from 2015 to 2021. His research activities focus in particular on environmental chemistry, clean processes, eco-extraction and the valorization of plant resources, supercritical fluids, sustainable textile dyeing, life cycle assessment, and molecular modeling.

His research work has resulted in more than 80 scientific publications and around 40 international conference communications. He has supervised numerous PhD theses and master's dissertations. Founder and President of the Tunisian Association for Sustainable Technologies (ATuTeD), he has also chaired several international conferences, including ICACE.
